Book Review: Fifty Shades of Grey

I’m sure everyone and their mother (as well as some libraries in Florida, apparently) have heard of the new hit book trilogy “Fifty Shades”.

The first book is called “Fifty Shades of Grey“. I started reading it last week and I’m halfway through the final book now. Let me just say – this book is TOO HOT TO HANDLE! It’s one of those things that you are kinda sorta almost embarrassed about reading, but you can’t put it down!!!

The books unravel the intense love story between it’s two main characters: Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey. I equate their chemistry to that of Edward and Bella from Twilight, but magnified by like a billion with the addition of a lot of kinky sex. Sounds intriguing, no? You’re damn right it is!

The chemistry and sexual tension from Twilight pales in comparison to that of Ana and Christian. They don’t even hold a candle to it.

Now, when I heard they are making a movie out of it, I was pretty stoked. But then I heard that they might be casting Ian Somerhalder as Christian and my excitement level jumped even higher! Holy hotness of all hotness!!!! I can hardly contain my excitement. Even if he doesn’t get cast as Christian, I’m sure I will still love the movie

The producers are apparently striving for an R rating as opposed to an NC-17. To do this, they will definitely not be able to include all the racy scenes that are portrayed in the books, and that’s okay. These books are, at the heart of it all, a love story.

If you are living under a rock and haven’t heard of these books, I urge you to IMMEDIATELY drop whatever it is you are doing, and run to the store or download it on your iPad, Nook, or Kindle STAT!!!!!

About Running and Riley

Hello! My name is Julie. I'm a mother, working professional, aspiring runner, dancing and music addict, and general goof ball. I'm by no means a professional blogger...or writer...or photographer (wait, why am I blogging again? Just kidding!), so please excuse the many grammatical errors that are sure to appear on my little blog. I started runningandriley to chronicle some of my life's events, keep track of my workouts, and maybe inspire a few people along the way to live every day to the fullest! So welcome and I hope you join me on this journey! Love, Julie
